Located within a 15-minute drive from I-75 and Highway 27, the Pennbrooke Fairways, Meadows Executive Course is a semi-private 9-hole layout with the first hole recognized as a great ‘signature hole.' Bounded by wildlife preserves and stately old oaks, the par 31 routing offers a view of some of Florida's beautifully lush vegetation, which is the favorite nesting area for red-tailed hawks and even the occasional bald eagle.
A par 4 of only 213-yards may not sound like much of a challenge even for the average golfer, but square in the middle of the Pennbrooke Fairways, Meadows Executive Course's narrow first fairway is one of Florida's beautiful, old, moss-covered oak trees. The golfer must be able to carry a shot over the tree or fashion a low shot around or under it.
The Meadows boasts five par 4 holes, but the most difficult for most golfers is the par 3 fourth hole which ranges from 96-yards from the yellow tees to 193-yards from the black tees. Hitting into the sloping green requires a tee shot that must stop on the green to give the golfer a chance at par.
Designed by architects Gordon G. Lewis and Terrill LaGree, the Pennbrooke Fairways, Meadows Executive Course opened in 1987 and has been doing periodic renovations ever since in order to maintain its glamorous greens. Measuring a total distance of 3,279-yards from the longest tees, the Meadows is a truly majestic yet challenging golf course for beginners and even professionals that definitely puts golfers' putting skills to the test.
The layout has easily walkable fairways for those who want the exercise but rentals for carts and clubs are also available. Practice facilities for players, including pitching green, putting green, and access to a golf school academy are also available inside the club. After a game of golf, players can wine and dine inside, with the clubhouse serving various choices of drinks and mouthwatering meals.
