Bob Harrison
Bob Harrison's record over the last 30-years demonstrates his belief that golf courses should look as natural and as spectacular as possible.
Harrison believes this to be true regardless of whether a designer is lucky enough to have land that is naturally beautiful and finds the best collection of natural holes, or whether the land doesn't work in the designer's favor, and the objective becomes to manufacture an overall shape that gives the impression of naturally occurring hole layouts and positions.
In 1988 Harrison joined Greg Norman Golf Course Design and spent over 20-years in Australasia as its lead designer in the region. Some of his major projects include Ellerston, Moonah at The National, The Grand, The Glades, Nirwana Bali, Pelican Waters, Brookwater, The Vintage, The Sanctuary Lakes, and Stonecutters Ridge.
Both Ellerston and National Moonah are ranked among the top courses in Australia, while Brookwater, The Grand, Pelican Waters, The Glades, and The Vintage have all featured within Australia's Top 40.
Harrison was also the lead designer on a number of GNGCD projects in China, Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, and other parts of Asia. His work includes Nirwana Bali, which has been described as "The Best Golf Resort in the Pacific Rim" and is consistently ranked The Best Course in Asia. His most notable solo course is the spectacular Ardfin course in Scotland, on the remote island of Jura.
